Popular South African entertainer, DJ Black Coffee has confirmed that his wife Enhle Mbali has filed court papers for divorce.

According to DJ Black Coffee, they’ve been having issues in their marriage for almost a year which they couldn’t settle amicably. He however asked for privacy as they go through the divorce process.

In a statement released on Twitter, captioned “a statement” Black Coffee said: “After much deliberation since the story of our relationship broke in public, I wish to state that we have been trying to sort our problems amicably and in private for almost a year now and it has been the most heart breaking and challenging period. [sic]”

He further disclosed that their marital crisis is double-faced but won’t make him discuss his private life in the public, neither would it make him speak ill of ‘his’ partner or ‘his’ in-laws.

“As Mbali has stated, our priority are to protect our children at this point. [sic],” he said.

The couple tied the knot during a traditional wedding ceremony eight years ago, and celebrated their union with a white wedding in 2018.

LIB reported that Enhle Mbali in her court document alleged that Black Coffee cheated on her several times. She also disclosed that his mother Faith Ndadala arrived at her matrimonial home on September 27 to bully and verbally attack her. She further added that she was subjected to a plethora of insults by her mother-in-law who told her that she has no claim on the property as she and Black Coffee were not married in community of property.

Enhle asked the court to prohibit her husband’s family members from committing any act of domestic violence against her or not to get another person to commit any act of domestic violence against her. She also asked the court to bar Nomalanga from entering the property.
